तेषां वीर्यमदान्धानां दृप्तानां स्मयनुत्तये । आनितासि मया भद्रे तेजोपहरतासताम् ॥ १९ ॥

Text

teṣāṁ vīrya-madāndhānāṁ dṛptānāṁ smaya-nuttaye ānitāsi mayā bhadre tejopaharatāsatām

Synonyms

teṣām—of them;vīrya—with their power;mada—by the intoxication;andhānām—blinded;dṛptānām—proud;smaya—the arrogance;nuttaye—to dispel;ānitāasi—you were taken in marriage;mayā—by Me;bhadre—good woman;tejaḥ—the strength;upaharatā—removing;asatām—of the wicked.

Translation

It was to dispel the arrogance of these kings that I carried you away, My good woman, for they were blinded by the intoxication of power. My purpose was to curb the strength of the wicked.
